WELCOME TO THE CIRCLE OF THE BLUE MOON

The Circle of the Blue Moon was founded in 1998 in Shelbyville, KY, by Lady LaKira, to establish an atmosphere for religious worship, growth and development. Circle of the Blue Moon follows the LaKirian Tradition, a form of eclectic Wicca. A tradition is in simple terms a specific way of teaching, practice and ritual within a group.

We are a working magickal group but foremost we are a Wiccan based religious Coven that is committed to providing learning opportunities for people interested in exploring the traditions of the Wiccan faith and coming together to worship and celebrate the changing of the seasons, commonly called "turning the wheel of the Year", or the eight Sabbats or holidays of Wicca and paganism. We worship the Source of the "One" personified in the Goddess and the God. We honor the Earth and all her creatures as sacred. We observe Full Moon Rituals or Esbats. We abide by the Wiccan Rede. We believe in the Three-fold Law; that whatever we send out be it good or negative it will return to us three times. For this reason we do not do manipulative magick.

We have a specific training program that demands time, effort and dedication on the part of our members. They are expected to give high priority to this work. Members are expected to work toward degrees. In our Circle we have three degrees or levels of training. These degrees are earned as Coven members do the required work and as they complete each course of study we require. This is a benchmark of their successful studies. Most importantly, each initiation is a spiritual step to a higher stage in personal growth.

An on-line study course is being finalized in the near future to teach those who are unable to attend our classes.

Members of our group strive to the best of our ability to live our lives in a way, which honors the Goddess and the God. We support one another in the Coven in our learning, growth and aspirations. Together we celebrate the Sabbats, work magick, recognize Rites of Passage, and honor the Goddess and the God as a family. We honor the Earth and all Her creatures as sacred and attempt to be good stewards of the Earth. We teach Wiccan beliefs and traditional skills to members and where appropriate educate the general public about Wicca, Paganism, religious freedom, religious tolerance, diversity awareness, and environmental matters.

Our Coven Purpose is to promote inner peace, greater insight and aware of the connections linking all things, as well as magickal power and we see it to be life-transforming. This doesn't happen over night, of course, but occurs through years of effort and devotion and those of us who have chosen this life path have found it to be rewarding beyond words. It has truly changed our lives for the better.

Blessed Be,

Lady LaKira, High Priestess
